Northern Grooves consists of friends Greta Kaur-Taylor and Jake Parker and was founded by former member Isaac Lloyd in 2021.  Greta joined the group in 2022. After lineup changes Northern Grooves have reached their current form.  

Mixing the traditional with the contemporary Northern Grooves are making it their mission to create eclectic soul nights for all ages. They believe that soul music is for anyone and everyone, aiming to bring soul music to new spaces aross the UK, Europe and beyond.




From cutting their teeth at Withingtons cultural hub ‘Cafe Blah’, the group now holds a monthly reisidency at ‘The Night and Day Cafe’ and a bi-monthly resedency at ‘Big Hands’ in Manchester. Northern Grooves have gone on to play at exciting venues such as: YES, Belgrave Hall, The Lowry, The Garage and Band on The Wall.

Gaining media traction Northern Grooves have been  featured by: BBC News UK, BBC Radio 6 Music, Fred Perry, Dazed Magazine and more.




2025 has seen the group continue their residency nights, play their first EU show in Cologne, Play with Bez of the Happy Monday’s and spin the wax at Salford’s The Lowry. This year will see them play their first mainstream festival ‘We Out Here’ and branch out further across the UK and EU.

Expect huge northern soul classics, stompers, and modern soul dancers throughout their sets.
